Here is an interesting piece over at the Talk To Action blog. Apparently Don Hewitt of "60 Minutes" remarked in 2002 that the only segment he regretted was in 1983 that appeared to link the National Council of Churches and the World Council of Churches to communists.
What is troubling is not so much that "60 Minutes" ran this story, but that many conservative Christians liked it for attacking mainline Protestants. We should not rejoice in seeing our brothers and sisters discredited. And if the charges had actually been accurate, instead of reveling in the report other Christians should have attempted to lovingly bring the groups back into the fold.
