Here is a sad story over at Ethics Daily about how a Southern Baptist pastor in Oklahoma was arrested for propositioning a police officer who was undercover as a male prostitute. We will likely never know how many people are turned off from Christians—and thus God—because of this pastor’s mistake.
The pastor, a member of the Southern Baptist Convention Executive Committee and the Recording Secretary of the Baptist General Convention of Oklahoma, has been extremely vocal in his opposition to homosexuality and yet allegedly propositioned a man he thought was a prostitute. Hopefully people will not treat this man like he and other SBC leaders have treated homosexuals, but will instead offer him love and forgiveness.
