Pieces on Religious Liberty

My latest two pieces came out today, with both focused on religious liberty issues related to the proposed Islamic cultural center in New York City. The first piece is an Ethics Daily article entitled "SBC Leader Tries to Articulate Anti-Mosque Position." It outlines how Richard Land, who is supposed to lead the Southern Baptist Convention's religious liberty efforts, is taking a position against the center but often contradicts his own arguments as he struggles to defend his position. The second piece is an "Civic Soapbox" essay on WMRA (local NPR station) entitled "James Madison and Religious Liberty for All." It covers why people of all faiths should stand up for the religious liberty rights of all, including Muslims in New York City. You can listen to it here or read the transcript here.
