The annual gathering of the Baptist World Alliance has been going on in Prague this week. This is a time for leaders of Baptist groups from around the world to come together for fellowship, worship, and planning for ministry. The BWA has a piece on the meeting entitled "Baptists discuss theological, doctrinal and ethical issues."
Jim Hill, executive director of the Baptist General Convention of Missouri, is attending the meeting since the BGCM is a member of the BWA. He has written a blog post from Prague and has a column in this week's BGCM Message that talks about the importance of the BWA.
The best reporting from the BWA gathering has come from Robert Parham of Ethics Daily. Here are his pieces that have offered great highlights for Baptists unable to attend:
Global Baptists Gather Next Week in Prague with Record of Growth, Organizational Change
Baptist World Alliance Aims for Greater Global Representation
Baptist Leader Raises 10 Questions About Ordination
Bangladeshi Baptist Leader Receives Human Rights Award
BWA to Discuss Open Letter from Muslim Leaders to Christian Leaders
Baptist World Aid Seeks to Become Baptist Hub for Disaster and Develop Initiatives
Tony Cartledge of Baptists Today has also been offering updates on his blog (such as here, here, here, and here).
It is great to hear that things are going very well for the BWA and its vital ministries. Let us pray that the BWA will continue to unite Baptists worldwide for ministry, worship, and fellowship.
