Ethics Daily has a nice article day summarizing a recent academic article I had published in a journal. The piece, which I co-wrote with Bryan Fisher, is entitled "Onward Christian Soldiers: Southern Baptist Convention's Support for Operation Iraqi Freedom." It was published in the Journal of the Speech and Theatre Association of Missouri. In this study we analyzed the rhetoric by Southern Baptist leaders during the lead-up to the Iraq war and reasons why the God-based appeals for the war were not successful with most Americans. The piece is not online, but the Ethics Daily article does a good job of explaining the main findings.
