Yesterday, I finally watched the movie Blood Diamond. I had been wanting to see it for some time. It is a powerful film that should make each of us want to take action to help our fellow humans. If you have not seen it yet, I would highly recommend it. If your church has movie and dialogue nights, this would be an excellent choice. There is a line in the movie that really stood out:
Sometimes I wonder will God ever forgive us for what we've done to each other? Then I look around and I realize God left this place a long time ago.I wonder what could have been avoided if Christians fully lived out the love of God and did not often ignore the plight of others. Perhaps then it would not seem that God left. What can we do to help end genocide and violence? The movie does not offer the answers but it does a good job of making us aware of the need to seek such answers.
