Huckabee and the Iowa Straw Poll

Ethics Daily ran my latest article today, which is entitled "Huckabee Compares Iowa Success to Jesus' Feeding of 5,000." It covers the results of the recent Iowa straw poll. In it I note the religious allusions used by Huckabee. After placing second he stated:
It wasn't just that we surprised people with a second showing, it's that we did it with so few resources. I mean, this really was feeding the 5,000 with two fish and five loaves, an amazing kind of day for us.
Additionally, during his speech at the event he compared the Republican congressional losses in 2006 to the fig tree that Jesus cursed. Huckabee argued that like the tree, Republicans were guilty of "false advertising" by not keeping their campaign promises.

It will be interesting to see if the straw poll results give his candidacy a boost as he claims it will.
