At Justice Sunday III yesterday, the Reverend Jerry Falwell apparently made up a new sin. He urged those watching "Just Us Sunday" to call their senators and ask them to support Alito. Falwell stated:
“You have two senators. If you don't know their names, you ought to repent first, and then call the U.S. capitol and talk with whomever you can talk with and urge them to vote for the confirmation of this judge.”
Not sure which verse that sin comes from ("Though shall knoweth the names of thy senators"). The real sin is to (mis)use religion for political purposes—remember, Judas the betrayer wanted Jesus to be an earthly messiah and king. Why must we continue to ask Jesus to be less than what He came to be—our eternal God, Messiah, and King!
