Here is an article over at Ethics Daily about how Rudy Giuliani recently spoke at a meeting of nearly 2,000 evangelical pastors and leaders. Since he is pro-choice and for gay rights, some found his presence at the event odd. What was even more puzzling was this statement he made:
"I can't tell you how much I appreciate what you are doing, and if any of these lessons help at all in saving people and helping people and bringing them to Jesus and bringing them to God, you've done me a great favor."
Huh? How is leading people to Jesus doing a great favor for Rudy? Is he assuming that the more Christians there are the more people will vote for him once he is the Republican nominee for president? If so this is one the most brazen (mis)uses of religion ever.
