It looks like we are in for another round of inappropriate rhetoric about how God supports a partisan agenda. The DefCon blog is reporting that there will be a Justice Sunday III on January 8.
DefCon Blog Change the Date
At the first Justice Sunday speakers basically argued that voting to filibuster Bush's court nominees was against God's will (from the little known verse about "thou shalt not voteth to filibuster"). Both events left me sick to my stomach as the speakers (mis)used the Bible and God to justify their partisan agenda. Now we will spend yet another Sunday evening at a church worshipping Bush and the Republican Party instead of God.
Jesus came to build a Heavenly Kingdom, not an earthly one. It is time to care about what God cares about—people’s souls, not court nominees.
