Gingrich Uses Racial Politics in South Carolina Win

Gingrich Uses Racial Politics in South Carolina Win
Ethics Daily ran my latest article today, which is entitled "Gingrich Uses Racial Politics in South Carolina Win." It examines some of the claims made by former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich prior to Saturday's vote in the first southern Republican presidential primary (the photo is one I took of him in Iowa in August). The piece also notes various voting trends regarding evangelical and religiously-minded voters. Gingrich's victory means this is the first time in modern presidential campaigns that the Republican primary has seen three different winners in the first three states. Florida, which votes a week from tomorrow, will now have its most important Republican presidential primary ever. But even then the race could easily extend into other states as this race seems unlikely to quickly end.
