'Arab Spring' Debate

A couple of weeks ago, I moderated a public debate on "Resolved: The Arab Spring demonstrates that American youth have much to learn from the youth of the Middle East and North Africa." The debate was sponsored by the Madison Debate Society and the James Madison University Office of International Programs and included debaters from several different universities. I enjoyed hearing the arguments from the debaters and hope many of the college students present think more about the non-violent protest movements that toppled governments and sparked democratic reforms earlier this year.
