Friday Photos
Here are two photos I took early this summer of historic landmarks in New York City that are basically across the street from each other. The first is of Riverside Church. The building, the tallest church in the U.S., was financed in large part by John D. Rockefeller, Jr. Former pastors have included Harry Emerson Fosdick and William Sloane Coffin. As we sat in the virtually empty sanctuary where Martin Luther King, Jr. preached on a couple of occasions, the organists were practicing. The second photo is of Grant's tomb (who's buried there?) that honors Union General and U.S. President Ulysses S. Grant.
