King Hearings Creating Division

The Harrisonburg Daily News-Record ran my latest column today, which is entitled "King Hearings Creating Division." It is a critique of the congressional hearings that Representative Peter King of New York has convened, which target Muslims. I argue that such a narrow, sectarian focus in inappropriate. As I noted in my new book (Presidential Campaign Rhetoric in an Age of Confessional Politics), Muslims have become one of the main disenfranchised classes in our age of confessional politics.
