Legislators in Virginia are hard at work on the important issues that really need to be dealt with in these economic times--make it a crime to implant someone with a microchip against their will. My issue is not with the legislation itself but with the reason given by the chief sponsor:
My understanding--I'm not a theologian--but there's a prophecy in the Bible that says you'll have to receive a mark, or you can neither buy nor sell things in end times. ... Some people think these computer chips might be that mark.Let us assume that the common biblical interpretation is correct and it is indeed a prophecy. In that case, it would not matter if the law is passed or not. If it is a prophecy, then it is going to happen whether we pass laws to stop it or not. It seems unlikely that the antichrist would make the rest of the world get a microchip but give Virginians a pass because of a state law.
