David Coffey, President of the
Baptist World Alliance, had a good
column at
Ethics Daily yesterday about the plight of Christians in the Middle East. This is just one of the many reasons why the BWA is an important group as it informs Baptists about what is happening in other countries so that we do not become too self-concerned. The photo is of Coffey at the recent
Baptist Border Crossing. On a related note, Nabil Costa of the Lebanese Society for Educational & Social Development and the European Baptist Federation (a regional body in the BWA) had a good
column today at
Ethics Daily about Baptists in Lebanon.
UPDATE [4-24-09]:
Ethics Daily has post two more related columns.
One is by Gaza Baptist pastor Hanna Massad and the
other is by Israeli Baptist leader Bader Mansour.
