Papal Punchlines

My latest study is out in the book The Rhetoric of Pope John Paul II. The chapter that I wrote with Dr. Josh Compton of Dartmouth College is entitled "Papal punchlines: Late night comedic treatment of Pope John Paul II." The chapter examines how late night comics like Jay Leno and Jon Stewart treated the death of the Pope. We argue that the late night comics paid homage to the Pope in their own unique way. Most of the other chapters in the book look at the rhetoric of the Pope himself.
