Smith Dinner

John McCain and Barack Obama shared a dinner table and some jokes last night at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Dinner. During most presidential election years, the two candidates have spoken at the fundraiser for Catholic charities. It is a nice change of pace to see them crack some jokes at themselves and even say some kind words about each other. Here is McCain part one and part two, and Obama part one and part two. They are both funny, but McCain is clearly better at comedy (although funny presidential candidates--like Mo Udall and Bob Dole--have not historically done well in the election).
