Presenting Christ Credibly

Joel Edwards, director of the Evangelical Alliance in England, argued recently that evangelicals need to work to be more credible. Here are a few of his comments:

Evangelicalism has a serious PR problem and it's not hard to grasp why.

... We are known more for our anger than our anguish.

... If people are going to think differently about evangelicals, the only people who can change their minds are evangelicals.

He is right that some serious work is needed to improve the image and thus the witness of evangelicals. Hopefully this is a realization that other evangelical leaders will take to heart.
