Richard Land Misrepresents Baptist Groups

Ethics Daily ran my latest article today. It is entitled "Richard Land Misrepresents Baptist Groups" and deals with inaccurate attacks recently leveled by Land on the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant and the organizations involved in the gathering. He claimed that all of the groups involved were declining or stagnant in membership because they do not focus on evangelism. As I report, however, one-third of the groups are actually growing and the total numbers of all of the groups is growing. Additionally, all of these growth rates are much higher than those of Land's Southern Baptist Convention. I have previously argued that the media should not consider Land a reliable source since he did not attend the Celebration. But now that it is clear that he gotten his facts terribly wrong and is simply making stuff up, he should definitely not be trusted.
