I have a couple of pieces out today about the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant. The first one is an article at Ethics Daily that is the result of an interview with Michael Kinnamon, general secretary of the National Council of Churches. Kinnamon attended the Celebration even though he is not Baptist. In the article, he talks about why he attended, why he thought it was a very positive gathering, and what he hopes will happen as a result of it. My other piece is a column in the BGCM Message that is entitled "Uniting in love." It offers some reflections about the exciting and historic gathering.
A couple of other new pieces about the Celebration are worth noting. Ethics Daily has a great column today by Laura Cadena about the need to continue to work to bridge the racial divide and get Hispanic Baptists more involved. And Adam Taylor offered some good thoughts about the Celebration at the God's Politics blog.
