Albert Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, offered some insightful remarks at this year's GodBlogCon, a conference for Christian bloggers (which, ironically, was held this year in Las Vegas). In talking about the need for Christian to communicate everywhere--including blogs--he stated:
The Christian faith is actually tied to words and without apology, the Christian faith is tied to communication. ... And thus, we are here not merely as Christians but as Christian communicators.Amen! Our calling as Christians is one of being Christian communicators. After all, we are God's ambassadors to the world. The way we talk and act sends messages to those around us. Thus, it is critically important that we send messages that draw them closer to God instead of driving them away. This concept that Christians have an automatic calling as communicators is what drove me to write my book (For God's Sake, Shut Up!).
