Nebraska Democratic State Senator Ernie Chambers is against legislation that would restrict the filing of frivolous lawsuits. So to make a dramatic point against such legislation, he sued God for killing and terrorizing people with natural disasters. Huh? Can anyone think of a more frivolous lawsuit? It makes me think about wanting to ban such lawsuits! How does wasting the court's time with such a frivolous lawsuit help his cause that lawsuits like his should be given the time of day? His lawsuit will of course be thrown out, but I am not sure if it will help his argument for allowing frivolous lawsuits. It is, however, unfortunate that he decided to attack God just to make a political argument. Why not sue Elvis or space aliens? If you are going to be stupid, please do not bring God into it.
