Ben Cole has an excellent post at SBC Outpost that has sparked some discussion. In the tongue-in-cheek post, he "linked" Southern Baptist Theological Seminary's president Al Mohler to groups promoting homosexuality. He used the post to point out the absurdity of attacks made by Roger Moran and others on Ed Stetzer for being involved with the emerging church movement and attacks made by Paige Patterson and others on the Baptist World Alliance. His point is an excellent one. The illogical guilt-by-association attacks made by Moran, Patterson, Don Hinkle (who has joined in on both the emerging church and BWA attacks), and others have polarized Christians and spread false rumors about brothers and sisters in Christ. I dealt with these types of attacks a couple of years ago in a column entitled "Six Degrees of Separation."
