Here is the front of a church that I found odd. They have a prominent cross (and even some little crosses on the railing inside). However, the banner inside reads:
Striving To Be "A Haven From The World"Hmmm. I know that church is supposed to help us not be of this world. However, we are still supposed to be in it, not hiding out in some haven. It seems that a church should strive to be a lighthouse, not a safe haven.
Right, Christ was crucified outside the gate of the city. The church of Jesus Christ must constantly go out into the world--the world for which Christ was born, died, and rose again.
