Habitat for Humanity recently started its 1,000th home in the Gulf Coast area to help the victims of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. Wow! Habitat continues to demonstrate Christians at their best by living out God's love. Longtime Habitat volunteer and former president Jimmy Carter, who will be one of the speakers at the Celebration of a New Baptist Covenant, was on hand to help with the raising of the home. Afterward, Carter and his wife announced that their 25th annual "Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project" will be held next year in the Gulf Coast to continue in the recovery efforts.
Meanwhile, Kevin Bussey has posted updates and photos the last few days about some missions work that he was a part of down in New Orleans. He makes it very clear how much work is still needed. I hope many Christians will be inspired to get involved by praying, giving, and even going. While it seems a lot of people have since forgotten about the devastation from the hurricanes, the work is far from over. When we as Christians share the love of Jesus by helping people rebuild their lives we bring honor and glory to God.

Brother Brian,
ReplyDeleteIt is good to see Christians reaching out to help those in need.
Received the book yesterday. Thanks! Also, thanks for the personal note inside. I probably would have had to stand in a long line to get the book to be personally autographed by the author. :>)
Blessings,
Tim
Hope you like it! Although, you are too kind to suggest that I have long lines of people waiting to get the book.
