It’s Here!

It’s Here!
Copies of my book, For God’s Sake, Shut Up!: Lessons for Christians on How to Speak Effectively and When to Remain Silent, arrived today. Thus, it has been a pretty exciting day! It did not quite seem real until now. To find out more about it, check out the Smyth & Helwys page.

Oh, and if you want to see a video that is basically how I acted when the books showed up, check it out here. Okay, so no one took shots at me, but that will likely come once they read it.

    Congratulations Brian,
We got the postcard yesterday. Thanks for keeping us up the lastest. I have been reading your editorials and they are great so I cannot wait to get the book.

Amazing how many "pastors" use their blogs to hawk their books.

2 Corinthians 2:17 comes to mind.

  4. Kris: That Scripture passage is about people "peddling the Word of God." I would not be so arrogant as to claim that my book is the Word of God, but I do pray that God uses my words to help Christians.

What Paul was referring to was false prophets who do not actually care about God or the people, but just wanted money. My goal is to help Christians communicate more effectively (trust me, there are much quicker ways to make money). Please be much more careful to not take Scripture out of context.

  6. Brian,

I and my colleagues at Smyth & Helwys are proud to have been able to partner with you for the publication of FOR GOD'S SAKE SHUT UP!. The book is an important examination of how poorly we sometimes use language in support of our faith. I wish you (and us!) all the best with it.

    Blessings,

  7. Keith: Thanks for the comment. I am extremely grateful to Smyth & Helwys for giving me this opportunity. And I am very appreciative for all the assistance you and others there gave me to help me through this process.
