Bring 'em off

President George W. Bush recently offered a good lesson for all of us when it comes to effectively communicating our mission. He admitted that he made mistakes in his aggressive style of talking about the Iraqi war. In particular, he said his "bring 'em on" statement to the Iraqi insurgency was the "kind of tough talk, you know, that sent the wrong message to people." He added:

I learnt some lessons about expressing myself maybe in a little more sophisticated manner, you know. "Wanted, dead or alive"; that kind of talk. I think in certain parts of the world it was misinterpreted.
At least he finally realized it. This is a good reminder for each of us that if we are too harsh or arrogant in our word choice it may come hurt our cause and back to haunt us later.
