In a Fishbowl

In an article about a pastor's sudden departure from a church, there was a very good statement made by one of the church members. She stated:

"When you're a Christian and a believer, you live in a big old fishbowl—people always know what you're doing, and they're more concerned sometimes, no offense to the media, in portraying what's wrong instead of what's right."


While I do not hold as pessimistic of a view of the media as she does, she still makes a very good point. We are in a fishbowl and people are watching. Thus we must be careful how we act and what we say or else—to mix metaphors—we will never get to become "fishers of men."
