Blaming God

Here is a great article over at Ethics Daily in response to New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin and others who have claimed that Hurricane Katrina was God's punishment. Robert Parham of the Baptist Center for Ethics stated:

"Blaming God for natural disasters, diseases and destruction is far too popular in American culture, and especially within faith circles."

Parham goes on to critique this mindset based on the teachings of Jesus from the Sermon on the Mount. Hopefully, more Christians will either follow Parham's advice or keep their mouths shut.
