Pat Robertson has done it again—said something outrageous that embarrasses him and all Christians. CNN.com - Robertson warns Pennsylvania voters of God's wrath - Nov 10, 2005
He has warned the Pennsylvania town that on Tuesday voted against the reelection of 8 school board members who tried to get intelligent design taught in high school biology. While the issue is still under trial, the people of Dover apparently did not approve of the board's decision.
Robertson claimed:
"I'd like to say to the good citizens of Dover: if there is a disaster in your area, don't turn to God, you just rejected Him from your city."
"And don't wonder why He hasn't helped you when problems begin, if they begin. I'm not saying they will, but if they do, just remember, you just voted God out of your city. And if that's the case, don't ask for His help because he might not be there."
"Voted God out" of their city?! I thought they voted out 8 school board members (I wonder which one of them is really God is disguise). "Don't turn to God" and "don't ask for his help." What kind of messed up advise is that?! Shouldn’t we be urging everyone to turn to God?! (except those we plan to kill, of course).
Thanks a lot Robertson. Don't you think you have done enough damage for one year; this along with Chavez is quite a lot of foot-in-mouth moments in the last couple of months (the bad foot aftertaste from the assassination comment probably had not even left yet—maybe he is addicted to the taste of his own foot)? I pray that someday Pat Robertson will evolve enough to start preaching God’s word.
