Sky News reports that there has been a lot of responses to their report, and understandably so. Fierce Reaction to Hate
They quote a pastor as writing: "Christian clergy in America have adopted the correct tactic with regards to Phelps and his ilk: we ignore them completely. They represent views that are as far from Christianity as they could be."
The pastor is correct is noting how most Christians react (like ostriches with their heads in the sand). However, it is not "the correct tactic." Jesus strongly condemned the religious leaders who used God's name to attack and put down others. For some people, Phelps and his group standing on the sidewalk may be the only "Christians" they see. Therefore, we must work hard to publicly condemn their message of hate and tell the world about the love of Jesus.
