Two religious leaders have set a great example in the midst of the Hurricane relief efforts. The conservative Franklin Graham and the liberal Al Sharpton accidentally showed up at the same place in Shreveport at the same time. Al Sharpton, Franklin Graham pay impromptu visit to evacuees
Though it was the first time they had met, they hugged and praised each other and then held hands and prayed together. How exciting to see two very different religious leaders unite together in prayer! It is sad that it takes a disaster to make moments like this happen.
Sharpton stated about it: "They're seeing us in the same place, at the same time, saying the same thing. ...Let's keep this dialogue open. This can help bring the country together."
Yes, we desperately need more dialogue to bring our country and our faith together.
