For God's Sake, Shut Up!

This Blog is designed to teach Christians how to communicate effectively, which includes knowing when to remain silent. Sadly, Christians often do a poor job of communicating, which can make us look bad and drive people away from God. Sometimes I want to just say to those Christians: "For God's sake, shut up!" I don't mean that profanely. When Christians say dumb things it damages unbelievers' perceptions of our Lord and Savior. Thus we must confront these harmful statements.

    Baptists & Muslims
    Tuesday, July 14, 2009
Earlier this year, I reported on the first national dialogue between Baptist and Muslim leaders (see articles here, here, here, and here). Over the past few weeks, there have been some follow-ups to that effort. Sayyid Syeed of the Islamic Society of North America addressed the recent meeting of the American Baptist Churches, USA. The next week, Rick Warren spoke at the meeting of the Islamic Society of North America. Additionally, a couple of Baptists led a workshop session on the topic of dialoguing with Muslims during the recent meeting of the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship.
