For God's Sake, Shut Up!

This Blog is designed to teach Christians how to communicate effectively, which includes knowing when to remain silent. Sadly, Christians often do a poor job of communicating, which can make us look bad and drive people away from God. Sometimes I want to just say to those Christians: "For God's sake, shut up!" I don't mean that profanely. When Christians say dumb things it damages unbelievers' perceptions of our Lord and Savior. Thus we must confront these harmful statements.

    In a shocking story, it seems that the Church of England (for all the denominationally illiterate they are also known worldwide as Anglicans or in the U.S. as Episcopalians) has apparently endorsed the idea of killing severely disabled babies at birth. I am nearly speechless at this news (nothing makes me entirely speechless—that’s why I blog). Many are understandably shocked. This message could drive away from the church many disabled people and their families. Hopefully, this is a mistake that will soon be corrected.
